Sometimes written as Jose, as is such on his baptism
certificate. Certificate also gives his father's name as Jose
Adelberto Doria and mother's name as Henrietta Schulze.

Remembers when he still lived in Mexico (as a child) and Poncho
Villa and his band of bandits came to their farm (ranch); they
stole some chickens (at least), and would have killed his
father, if he hadn't been married to an American woman.
Was a painter in 1929 and 1939 (at least)
In the Navy (3-1944 to 11-1945), Served in WWII, South Pacific
Theater; also had to go into Japan after their surrender and get
American POWs out of the concentration camps. Rating at
discharge was Motor Machinist Mate Third Class. Did boot
training at Farragut, Idaho then amphibious traning at Little
Creek, Virginia.
