Louis Schulze, proprietor of a dry goods store at 2302 Menard street, was waiting on a customer in the front of his store at 2 p.m. when he saw a man sneak in at the back door and make for the cash drawer. Schulze picked up an ink bottle and started toward him. The man ran out and slammed the door. Schulze hurled the ink bottle through the glass panel. It struck the man in the back and broke, spattering him with ink. He escaped. During the excitement the customer left and Schulze missed a sale.
