The bride formerly was Miss Ruth Doris Doria. The couple will reside in South Bend, Ind., Ens. Palmer being an instructor at Notre Dame.

OCEANSIDE - Robert Melvin Palmer, 80, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001, at his home.
Born May 7, 1920, in Boston, he lived in Oceanside for 11 years. He retired from American Machinery in 1995. He attended Harvard College. He was a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy. He was a graduate of ‘42 in the U.S. Naval Academy. He flew the B-44.
Mr. Palmer was preceded in death by his parents Grace and Harry Palmer and brother Richard Palmer. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elaine Palmer, of Oceanside.; son Bruce Melvin Palmer of Chandler, Ariz.; and daughters Terri Palmer of Plano, Texas and Gail Palmer of Carlsbad.
A private cremation with cremains scattered at sea is planned.
The family suggests memorial donations to a charity of your choice.
